Yes, most of Aptiva Health's surgeons include fellowship-trained specialists. Dr. J. Steve Smith completed his sports medicine fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles — the same program that trains team physicians for the LA Dodgers, Lakers, Kings, and Angels — and treats athletes and active patients across Kentucky. Dr. Timothy Wilson received fellowship training in sports orthopedics from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Michael Casnellie performed Kentucky's first Prestige cervical disc replacement and completed his fellowship at Twin Cities Spine Center, a Minneapolis-based program consistently ranked among the top spine fellowships in the country, where surgeons see exceptionally high case volumes across the full spectrum of cervical and lumbar disorders. Dr. David McConda completed his fellowship-training at OrthoCarolina Spine Center in Charlotte through the AOSpine North America Spine Surgery Fellowship — the premier spine-surgery training program of AOSpine, the international foundation that sets clinical standards in spine care.. Dr. Shawn Price is fellowship-trained in sarcoma and musculoskeletal oncology.
